Among the various certifications recognized to Emmetex is the European Flax® certification, which guarantees the origin of linen fiber from European cultivation. European Flax® certification guarantees the origin and traceability of linen fibers used for textile production. In particular, it certifies the use of them from European crops with the following characteristics:
- no irrigation;
- no use of GMOs;
- plantation rotation;
- reduced use of fertilizers and pesticides;
- natural maceration in the field;
- carbon sink: retains 400,000 tons of CO2 each year;
- no waste: the whole plant is used;
- fully mechanical fiber extraction (scutching).
